Your child is joyfully riding their balance bike… and suddenly they’re going faster than they can safely control. It can happen on a downhill, after a strong push from a friend, or simply from building momentum. In those moments, even the most attentive parent can’t always react in time.
That exact experience with my three-year-old son led me to create Bremo.
Bremo is an innovative automatic mechanical speed limiter for balance bikes.
You install Bremo once on the wheel. From that moment on, it works completely automatically.
When the bike is at normal, safe speeds → almost no resistance. Whenever the wheel speed exceeds the factory-set limit → Bremo smoothly and progressively limits the maximum speed to a safe level.
It reacts to any overspeed situation — downhill, hard push, momentum, or any other reason. Pure physics doing the work in the background.
We have thoroughly tested Bremo in real conditions together with the Cruzee team. The product is designed as a simple retrofit solution — you just mount it and it works automatically.
Designed as a universal unit. Move it by simply swapping the adapter. Universal fit and collaboration with the Cruzee team.
One Bremo device moves to another bike by swapping the adapter. Tested on multiple balance bikes. Patent application filed.
Watch how simple it is to mount Bremo on your child’s balance bike.
The whole process takes just a few minutes with basic tools. No permanent modifications to the bike are needed.
Bremo gives children the confidence to ride and explore, while giving parents reassurance that speed is being managed safely in any situation.
I'm a Slovenian engineer and father who created BremoKids after my three-year-old son had a scary speed-related accident on his balance bike. My goal is simple: give kids more freedom to ride and parents real peace of mind.
I developed Bremo because I wanted my own child to enjoy riding safely. After an incident that ended with a night in the emergency room — I knew I had to find a better solution. Collaboration with the Cruzee team and Yo Volkmar Rollenbeck — who provided valuable feedback.
We already have a fully functional prototype. Patent application filed.
